Despite heavy state capital investment in COMAC's C919, China's industrial playbook of technology absorption and subsidized scaling faces an order-of-magnitude higher barrier in commercial aviation than in solar or rail: high-bypass turbofan metallurgy, FAA/EASA airworthiness certification, and global AOG maintenance networks remain binding bottlenecks.
