While wind cannot match solar PV's steeper learning curves and zero-moving-parts simplicity on land, land-constrained industrial economies (South Korea, Japan, the UK) can deploy 1,200-meter deep-ocean floating vertical-axis concrete spar turbines (~100 MW each) to synthesize chemical fuels directly at sea, offloading liquid hydrocarbons by tanker rather than building subsea high-voltage cables.
