basically, our first KAYWA customer is going live this weekend. we are offering free moblogging of the street parade, the 2nd biggest techno event in the world, to be held this weekend in zurich, switzerland. what about the spelling in the text? don’t they have reviewers?
2003-08-09: my favorite shots from tonight’s crop. it was a lot of fun to moblog my way through the evening’s festivities 🙂

Tale of 2 cities

There’s a new partnership between the greater area Zurich (Switzerland) and the San Francisco Bay Area. Founding members of the “San Francisco – Zurich Initiative” are so far Richards Fredericks (former US ambassador in Switzerland), Universities of Berkeley and Stanford, University and ETH of Zurich, Swiss Re and ZKB, Opera of Zurich and the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce. The governments of the 2 cities already indicated interest in supporting the initiative.

very cool, to see 2 of my favorite cities working together like this. whether this will have any discernible impact remains to be seen, but still. also, tobias seems to have moved from postnuke to typepad. i guess he would have made a good beta tester for KAYWA.

Guides for locals

yesterday, i grew tired of my usual food joints, so i decided to try something new. it was a bit of a pain until i found something that was not already closed, had a good selection of food, and was in my price range. in the process i saw lots of other interesting places and realized that to keep up to date in your hometown is impossible unless your town is really small. guides for locals would deal with that. there has to be a business in this somehow.. or, failing that, it would be a worthy community project.

local exploring

i keep being surprised by what zurich has to offer. being raised here, i would think i have kinda seen it, but no. on friday i was at rieter park, a lavish park overlooking lake zurich.

followed by a swim under the fountain at the enge harbor. very relaxing, and keeps visits to a massage therapist away 🙂
