Hypocrisy

its hilarious and sad at the same time to read through the archives to follow the PostNuke saga. it was obvious that postnuke would tank after all contributors left, but that the new head honcho would run it into the ground that quickly came as a surprise. with no capable developers on board, it is perhaps no wonder that a hackish roadmap was presented as the new solution. it will be interesting to watch if any substantial developments emerge out of that mess (and no, spelling fixes are not substantial improvements) meanwhile, the fun is back and work continues.

Greg Allan Tribute

A good friend of mine, Greg Allan (adam_baum) passed away from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident that occurred June 16), 2002 near his home in Meaford, Ontario in Canada. I have known Greg for ~1 year. Although we never physically met, we collaborated all this time on the PostNuke project, where we both were members of the Core Developers group. Working with Greg has been a very educating, enriching and joyful experience. I learned a lot from Greg, even though he always claimed to know nothing. The opposite was true. I consider Greg a friend. Wherever you are Greg, i miss you.

First cvs commit

well, after some weekend hacking, i have committed XML-RPC support to the postnuke CVS. unfortunately i had no time to finish it properly, so it will probably not work for now. it’s most likely a minor issue though, and maybe there is someone else interested in fixing it up. meanwhile over on bloggerdev, the discussion continues.. and some other open source projects might support this api in the future.

it will be interesting to wait for a little while and then cook up a great demo for the talk series i am preparing at zurich university.
