cheap, cheaper, cheapest

swisscom, words fail me. at least they are using software from my former startup KAYWA

Really. It doesn’t go any cheaper with the “user generated content” idea than what “bluewin/swisscom fixnet” is trying to do. Looks like their blog-hoster didn’t consult them very well about how that web 2.0 stuff is supposed to work. But anyway, looks definitively like bluewin is trying to jump on that train somehow, there’s that other project called “My Bluewin World”, which should be something like… mmmh, I don’t know ๐Ÿ™‚

KAYWA still around

My former startup KAYWA got a nice puff piece in the june 16th issue of CASH, a swiss business magazine. Now if only they would not be so incompetent with keeping their customer data around. My 2003 burning man photo collection which I uploaded to their servers for promotional purposes is still missing after repeated emails to their CEO.

moblogs are so 2003

hp always-on wearable cameramoblogs are just a glimpse into what is coming with always-on wearable cameras Mobile phones and PDAs with cameras are increasingly common; 16% of phones sold in 2003 had a camera in it, and last year camera phones actually out-sold other digital cameras. The bigger change will come from an entirely-new class of hardware — what I call the “personal memory assistant.” Both Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft have built test versions of wearable cameras designed to record the world around you as you go about your day. If you’ve seen or used a TiVo, imagine a TiVo for your day-to-day life. If you don’t think that’s revolutionary, consider that human memory is notoriously faulty; what happens when a person can have perfect recall?

Music Star

sarah: By the way… Claudio got the axe on Music Star.

2007-01-05: Music Star uses KAYWA.

Tomorrow, the third edition of Musicstar (aka American Idol, Superstar) will start on Swiss National Television. Kaywa provides the blogs for the candidates.

What’s special is that the candidates can moblog their videos right from their mobile phone and everyone can then see their flash-movies some seconds later

heh. My old startup continues to have fun projects
