FreakAngels

23 years ago, 12 strange children were born in England at exactly the same moment. 6 years later, the world ended. This is the story of what happened next. So welcome to Whitechapel, some years from now, just barely above ground in a flooded England, where a clan of 11 strange people with purple eyes – the Freakangels – have carved out some sort of a life for themselves. A life that starts to show big cracks when a girl called Alice from Manchester turns up with a shotgun and a grievance, having met the lost, prodigal last Freakangel, who had very different ideas about what they should do with themselves and this flooded future England. Because the Freakangels have a big secret: Something very bad is their fault.

Levitating lounger

Hoverit Ltd, introduce ‘The Lounger’, which is the first of their revolutionary magnetic ‘hover’ furniture range. British design, precision engineered and British built by hand. Defying gravity with the use of repelling magnetic forces in both the bed and base this contemporary lounger is comfortable, practical and stylish. Permanent magnets can also help back, muscular problems and headaches, so our furniture not only looks good – it may make you feel good too. The sensation that you feel as you lay back and close your eyes is totally different, like floating on a cloud.

Shelf Mapping

To assert sovereignty over its submerged continental shelf, a nation has to map multiple off-shore points. Among them: the area where the ocean depth drops to 2500 meters, and the place where a country’s land mass drops off to become seafloor, a spot called the foot of the continental slope. Conservative estimates suggest that a new set of boundaries could cause the US to “grow” by 1m km2, and the oil, gas, and other resources contained in that area could be worth $1.3 trillion.
