gmail 2.0 is here, and it is FAST. this will save me minutes every day. as a data point, gmail is now as fast or faster as thunderbird for me. another of my desktop apps bites the dust.

Google quietly added a small feature to Gmail this week called Mail Fetcher. When that feature launched, Gmail became perfect.
it would be more perfect still if it supported IMAP. that would allow me to backup my mail store 🙂
