Visual Positioning System
AR needs millimeter accuracy to not be a joke.
Geolocation JS Library
After the excellent feedback I got on my last geolocation blog post, I’ve updated the proposed geolocation API. More importantly, I’ve also created a pure Javascript library which you can use to start playing around with geolocation before we actually get it into the browser.

Geo Sitemaps
The time has come for it to be considered a “best practice” to include a Geo Sitemap on any local or regional website. Google clearly wants webmasters to include this indicator of location in a clear and obvious way that allows them to easily confirm geo data.

Geohash
If wanted, you may provide a name to a Geohash location, by appending the name to the Geohash itself after a colon. Earth Panos
The object of that little experiment was to see if I couldn’t create a 360-degree panorama in Google Earth. The answer was yes, with an additional unexpected use for the georeferenced photos on Flickr — you can turn them into placemarks and position them in front of the panorama, in effect creating clickable hotspots usable from within Google Earth’s PhotoOverlay view.
awesome. but far too complicated! we have to make this 10x easier.
