yesterday, i grew tired of my usual food joints, so i decided to try something new. it was a bit of a pain until i found something that was not already closed, had a good selection of food, and was in my price range. in the process i saw lots of other interesting places and realized that to keep up to date in your hometown is impossible unless your town is really small. guides for locals would deal with that. there has to be a business in this somehow.. or, failing that, it would be a worthy community project.

case sensitivity in web dav
it is 2003. hard to believe windows still has issues with case sensitivity in their web dav clients.
simplicity drives adoption
i joined meinbild.ch today after bernhard had some interesting things to say about it. bernhard argues that simplicity can drive adoption, and that simplicity may help to even the gender balance online:
And what is noticeable are 2 things: 1. It is really, really basic and lacks many features of the usual dating sites. 2. It is quite successful.
now, with its friends feature, one could imagine this service to emit FOAF somewhere. granted that’s totally against the simplicity argument, but it could be hidden at first.
what’s up with that
Unable to create templates for stylesheet:
debugging support for XSLT in cocoon is beyond bad. it’s nonexistent. one has to conclude that no one ever has to debug xslt in cocoon..
KAYWA in the news
as usual, there were some omissions and some wrong facts. typical journalism: “mieux organizer son site” come again? how about fact-checking 101 considering that roger sent a very informative email.
